WARIS & Stine Hvid

March, 2026

Waris is a Chiang Mai–based Thai street artist and graduate of Chiang Mai University who began painting in 2014. She is the only female member of MSV, Thailand’s largest and most active street art crew. Recognized as a distinct voice in Thailand’s graffiti culture, her work depicts colorful portraits of angelic women, aiming to break down gender barriers and inspire people to overcome fear to pursue what they truly want. She has painted internationally across Europe and Asia, and is also the founder of the street art festivals Roi Et Street Art and Canal Art Roi Et.

Stine Hvid is a Danish visual artist, educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Design in Visual Communication and Edinburgh College of Art. Stine has worked as a full-time mural artist, illustrator and painter since her graduation in 2013. One of her greatest passions is painting murals, and her works can be seen in the United States, Australia, Portugal, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

While in Bangkok, Waris and Stine will be working on multiple projects around the city, including producing a mural at Benjakitti Park in celebration of International Women’s Day, in collaboration with the Embassy of Denmark in Thailand and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

This residency is a collaboration with the Embassy of Denmark in Thailand.
