Born in Saga Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan in 1976, Kodo Chijiiwa is a photographer. He began his career in 2008 with a solo exhibition while residing in Germany. In 2019, he was invited as the first artist-in-residence at BZH PHOTO. In 2023, he held a solo exhibition at the M.K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art. Since 2015, he has served as a co- founder of the YAKUSHIMA PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL (YPF), a joint Japan-France initiative.

Kodo Chijiiwa will stay at the Bangkok 1899 Artist Residency during January 9-31, 2026, researching and developing his new photography project in Thailand.
